Since I haven’t had a chance to do a holiday gift guide or my holiday wish list, I thought I share with you the little interview I did with The Glitter Guide on my holiday must haves:

Laney Crowell, of Downtown Romantic, has a style that exudes the perfect mix of New York chic and California cool. She pairs pieces in an undeniably stylish way and always adds her own personal charm to every outfit and every blog post. We couldn’t wait to hear her holiday must-haves, and she didn’t disappoint. We couldn’t agree more with her choices, sparkly dresses are definitely on the top our list of holiday essentials after all, and we couldn’t wait to share them.

HOLIDAY MUST HAVES:

SONG: “Baby It’s Cold Outside” by Dean Martin and “All I Want For Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey.

COOKIE: Aunt Bill Pecan Fudge. Hands down, my grandmother’s Uncle Bill fudge cookie recipe. I skip most of Christmas Eve dinner so I can have more than my fair share of these treats.

DRINK: I love mulled wine. It’s sweet and spicy and instantly makes you feel like its the holidays.

PARTY DRESS: The holidays call for sparkle. I have a dress that’s all sequins and I can’t help but feel like celebrating when I have it on!

PARTY SHOES: Cute but comfortable black round-toe pumps. (image)

FAVORITE GIFT TO GIVE: A first-edition book. There’s something so special about giving something so original and simultaneously personal.

LIPSTICK COLOR: I actually like to play up my eyes and just wear a nude gloss. There are too many kisses and too much eating to have to worry about reapplying lipstick!

DECOR: Cozy. I love lots of white lights and candles.

MOVIE: Love Actually – I could watch it every night.

WAY TO SPARKLE: Arrive with good energy. Everyday, make sure to take a moment, center yourself, and be thankful for your loved ones. Too often the holidays can be busy and stressful.
