Over the past few days the runways have had a lovely soft metallic glow. From brushed silver to rose gold, watery blues to rich creams, and of course my favorite, opalescent blush pink, designers are promoting understated bling.

Earlier today I was thinking about how much things can change in just six months. It’s unbelievable how you can be in a new country, have a new job, and meet a new someone in so little time. And, I can’t help but wonder if designers were implying that same thing with their optimistic metallics. Maybe it’s a sign of better times yet to come? It’s as if Marc was saying, “What could be a better way to celebrate a new Spring than with a little (but not too much, let’s not get crazy here) sheen?”

Here’s to a new shining season…
