RIce PUdding CRème BRulée

{Homemade fanciness}

Last week I had a wonderful dinner out, got to get dressed up for the first time in weeks (I wore this outfit) and had fantastic, fantastic food. My most favorite part of the meal, not surprisingly, was dessert. A creamy, rich rice pudding underneath a crème brulée top. I loved the comfort food taste in the fancy french packaging, and was actually quite annoyed I had agreed to “share”.

Days later I still couldn’t stop thinking about it, so I decided to try and make it at home. I used this recipe and it was surprisingly simple: just a handful of ingredients, a couple minutes under the broiler, and blueberries sprinkled on top. The result was exactly what I had hoped for and I got the whole thing to myself.
