THankful FOr

{A room with a view}

Since Thanksgiving dinner has already been taken care of by my family, I decided to make something completely untraditional and frivolous as my contribution. I settled upon this recipe for pumpkin whoopie pies with cream cheese filling. They were surprisingly easy to make and as my dad described after tasting one, “amazingly, amazingly, oh my god good.”

While I’m thankful for a lot of things this holiday, I have to say I’m most thankful for my family, whom I missed very much while I was abroad, and of course, my dad’s big, non-New York kitchen with it’s amazing views of San Francisco Bay and Mount Tamalpais. I love being home so much it makes me wonder why I live any place else (but then I think of my friends, colleagues, and dancing at Boom Boom in New York and recommit myself to figuring out a bi-coastal lifestyle.) Dreaming aside, I hope everyone has a wonderful traditional, or untraditional, day today with their family, friends and love ones! We all have a lot to be thankful for!

{I used a Ziplock bag as a pastry bag and snipped off a corner to pipe the filling.}
