PUmpkin ANd GInger BIscuits

I heart Southern cooking: Paula Dean and Down Home with the Neelys are secret guilty pleasures of mine; I’m always up for brunch at Cowgirl on Hudson; and my life changed the first time I had Hummingbird cake. So, when I saw this recipe for pumpkin biscuits, I stopped what I was doing and pulled out my rolling pin. They were easy, fit in with the holiday spirit, and quite tasty. Although, as a biscuit connoisseur of sorts, I have to admit they could have been a little more flakey and light. If only I could DM Paula for advice… or better yet, do you guys have any tips?

{I couldn’t find my biscuit cutter so I made due with Easter cookie flowers and Valentine’s Day hearts.}
