My good friend Jenna first introduced me to this recipe. I couldn’t believe she had actually made bacon better. It’s pretty simple, a little messy though, but well worth it. Great next to some cheesy grits or on a BLT, or all by it’s self (as I ate it).
Sweet and Spicy Bacon
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
- 2 teaspoons black pepper
- 8 slices thick-cut bacon
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. In a shallow dish, combine the brown sugar, cayenne pepper and black pepper. Dredge the bacon slices in the brown sugar mixture, or sprinkle over the bacon if you want it to be less sweet, and arrange the bacon on a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven until crisp, about 20 minutes. Transfer to a serving plate and serve.
