Mother’s Day

{You can see the photo I gave to Don Oehl that he based this illustration on if you got to my Instagram }

I was interviewed a few weeks ago and asked to describe my mom in celebration of Mother’s Day. Of all the words that embody my mother’s spirit, wickedly adventurous, beyond genius smart, impressively determined, the thing I wanted to stress the most was how much she inspires me. She lives in Greece (on an olive farm where she makes her own olive oil (seriously)), so we don’t get to talk very much, and yet pretty much everything I do is because I hear my mom’s voice in my head telling me that I can accomplish anything I want if I set my mind to it. Besides for being and feeling loved, there is nothing more valuable than that feeling. So since I don’t get to say it very often, thank you mom, for making me believe. I love you and Happy Mother’s Day.

PS, You can read my interview with the Sunglass Hut here and enter to have a portrait of your mom drawn like I did by entering their very cool contest. Today is the last day so make sure to enter!

  1. Now we can see where you get such inspiration. You look just like your mom! And I love the lilacs! What a great tribute to mom’s everywhere–if only they were all so great. I was lucky b/c I had a great mom! Happy Mother’s Day to all mom’s!
