Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele

When I moved to New York 8 years ago, I interned at ELLE magazine. Full time, unpaid, for 6 months. Carlyne Cerf was a stylist there and from the moment I saw her walking down the long un-renovated hallways, I was fascinated. She wore track suits every.single.day and draped herself in gold chains. She smoked inside, took her dog everywhere and spoke in a mixture of french and english that gave me the impression she had just moved here. I found out that she was the founder of high-low dressing, famous for putting jeans on the cover of Vogue. She inspires my style to this day and if you want to get a sense of how truly eccentric she is, this video is fantastic.

  1. Sounds like an amazing internship! Although, I don’t know if I could do full time unpaid lol. Great post though! What an inspiring and unique woman.
