16 hours, or 16 minutes, away

So I have to admit, the trip to Asia last week was a bit exhausting. But, I love nothing more than being in a new city, letting my feet guide me haphazardly down random streets, into obscure stores, around unknown corners. That said, it kinda felt like I had just taken an 16-hour cab ride to Chinatown. Not only did I have a New York friend randomly staying at my hotel, but the sights were not all that different from what I could find in my hometown. In retrospect I would have gotten out of the city, up into the hills to see a temple or the beach that I heard murmurs about– something not shopping mall related. What I did love though, incase you’re planning a trip to Hong Kong soon, is:

– Dinner at Duddell’s. It’s new and the scene is very cool
– Snacks and dim sum at the Luk Yu tea house
– Drinks at Sevva over looking the city
– Tea at the Peninsula Hotel
– Shopping around Times Square
– Bargaining at the jade market
– The ferry ride from Kowloon to Central
