Thinking, rethinking

“All that we are is the result of what we have thought.”– Buddha

Meet my three new Buddhas, little guys for my meditation table. I picked them up on my recent trip, where I also happened to have a lot of time to think about my blog. I’ve had this site for years, varying my posts’ content, frequency and purpose, depending on where I was in my life and my influences. And as you may have noticed, I haven’t been blogging much recently. I think because I wasn’t quite sure what I was getting out of it. Currently, my personal focus has been on being my authentic self, losing my somewhat cumbersome ego (neither of which are particularly in line with “outfit” posts or shopping) and spending my afternoons meditating instead of brunching.

What I’ve missed during this semi-hiatus, is the daily writing exercise, checking in with myself to see how I’m feeling and what’s inspiring me. It’s not that I don’t still love fashion, food and interior design, it’s just taken a little bit of a back seat. So, you may notice a little shift from here on out. With a little more of a focus on deeper subjects and musings. Probably more personal and honest, too. Of course everything is a balance, I’m still going to want to share my new jacket or latest cookie recipe, just in moderation.

I was drawn to your blog while searching for someone to blog. I am so new at this. This must be the year for doing the unexpected. No one would ever believe that I would ever embark on writing a blog. I am not the greatest writer however, I find this to be a challenging and comforting at the same time.I was drawn to your quote “All that we are is the result of what we have thought” This is so so true. I guess that being said, we must be so careful of negative thinking. I enjoyed your post found it comforting. I am also just getting into meditation. I am so excited.
