Awestruck in Hudson

Last week work required that I drive up to Hudson for a two-day photoshoot. Timing wise it wasn’t ideal– I felt like I was coming down with a cold and I had my half-marathon on Sunday down in Pennsylvania. The beauty of the fall foliage and quaintness of the town made it feel far from a cumbersome assignment though. Around every turn there was a view more breathtaking from the last. It was a constant feeling of awe, and if you have ever read about the feeling of awestruck (here’s a great article), you know what I mean.

“Experiences of awe bring people into the present moment, which underlies
awe’s capacity to adjust time perception, influence decisions, and make life feel more satisfying than it would otherwise.”

Places where time seems to stand still. Envy you, because you’ve got to see it, smell it. I can only imagine stepping on the leaves, to hear the noise. And I can imagine sitting on those beautiful lawns, admiring a hypothetical sunset.
    Thanks for sharing.
