Old Stone Farm

Shawn took me to the most magical place for my birthday. He didn’t tell me where we were going, he just picked me up from work and we drove  about two hours, arriving at Old Stone Farm just at sunset. From the moment we got there Sherri and Jeff made us feel right at home. I would describe it as family farm luxury, with organic beds, Frette sheets and chicken chili served for lunch. There are only 12 rooms, each named after one of the horses on the property. The owners spent 10 years renovating it and you can tell because every detail is just perfect. The whole time I was there I felt like I was walking from page to page in Kinfolk magazine. The food was my favorite kind of food: local, farm fresh and light. I had probably the best massage of my life in their spa. But, my favorite part, was the group meditation in the red barn (above), which was led by a monk whose voice took me away from the streets of NYC and made the weekend a true vacation in the country. Needless to say, we had a hard time leaving, and are counting down the days until we can go back.
